WoW Warrior Guide

If the only thing you need to enjoy your MMORPG life is to rip apart mobs with brutal, overpowered damage—the Warrior class may be just what you are looking for.

The Warrior class may look like the easiest class to play at first due to relatively simple gameplay strategies, this can be pretty deceptive. Whether it’s PvP or PvE, Warriors are everyone’s favorite punching bag and you will inevitably be the first target on a PvP server.

Which Profession Should I Choose?

Warriors have quite a few options when it comes to leveling as no one profession stands out on its own. Depending on the status of your gold bank, you may be looking for a profession that will earn you enough gold to finance your future epic mount or new equipment while leveling.

With an epic mounts costing some 5k+ gold, it’s not hard to see why some players have difficulty keeping their gold banks in the black.

For making gold effectively in the Auction House, I recommend picking up skinning, herbalism, or mining.

Avoid crafting professions unless you have both the time and money to level them. They are not effective money makers until a player hits 80+ and most offer largely PvP benefits over PvE benefits.

Leveling a Warrior

Well, let’s face it : no one goes Warrior for its inventive playing style. Throughout the many patches and updates, playing a Warrior has always been a very straightforward affair. It’s not the fastest leveling class, but it’s easily the most newbie friendly. Warriors, like most classes, are better suited for questing than grinding.

Depending on the talent tree, Warriors can be either very standard levelers or very slow levelers. Fury Warriors are definitely the fastest among the various builds while Protection Warriors are comparatively very slow but safe.

Protection Warrior

Regardless of how well funded your gear is or your playing style, Protection Warriors are extremely slow soloing. The DPS of a Protection Warrior is pretty dismal and there is also a lot of downtime while leveling. They can, however, be excellent when used in a group setting.

With the introduction of the dungeon finder tool, Protection Warriors have become much more popular. If you have a group of friends to level with, or if you just want to queue up with the dungeon finder, you will find yourself a valuable and highly desirable addition to any team.

Protection Warriors are some of the best tanks in the game, and they generally have a very short queue compared to other classes for dungeons. If you enjoy and are good at tanking, you can easily out level even the best funded Fury Warrior and have lots of fun doing it.

Arms Warrior

For Warriors that like PvP, the Arms spec can offer great leveling while improving your odds in battlegrounds and arenas at the same time. Many PvP server Warriors roll Arms to help even out the odds in ganking situations.

Out of all the Warrior builds, Arms Warriors have a more active gameplay style that requires a little more attention and less button smashing. While it’s not quite as fast as Fury for leveling, this is definitely the build to choose if you want to do battlefields.

Fury Warriors

Leveling a Fury Warrior is all about using +hit rate and a high critical to slice through enemies with speed and effectiveness. With fast attack speeds and dual wielding, Warriors are weapons of massive destruction that can put a smile on your button-smashing face.

Compared to the other builds, Fury Warriors have the least downtime. The Bloodthirst ability allows Warriors to regain health while fighting and the fast attack speed and raw power decreases the amount of hits you take from mobs.
