As my first ever gold guide, Warcraft Millionaire holds a special place in my heart. It was the guide that let me finally buy my first decent piece of gear as well as the guide that let me buy my first epic mount. Widely known as one of the most popular gold guides in existence, Warcraft Millionaire taught me a new and better way to experience World of Warcraft.

What is Warcraft Millionaire?
Warcraft Millionaire is the creation of Brad Johnson, an expert gold farmer who became the very first player to reach the gold cap (approximately 214,748 gold 36 silver 47 copper). Having first become popular for its distinctive new approach to gold farming using the Auction House, it quickly became the standard by which all other gold guides were judged.
At somewhere over 200+ page, Warcraft Millionaire pretty much covers any gold making method a player can possibly dream of (and some they probably can’t). Well-organized and well-written, it is designed for both gold farming newbies and pros alike. I personally started using the guide from level 20 on my first character, but it could be used from as early as level 1.
What Does It Take to Become a World of Warcraft Millionaire?
A little bit of effort, if you want to go that far, but it’s probably not as hard as what you think. I started out using Warcraft Millionaire when I only had a few silver to spare, and now I am easily able to raise new characters with full rare gear and mounts with no problem.
While there is a special “Newbie Section†just for newer players to get familiar with basic terms and gold farming gameplay, the vast majority of the guide focuses on advanced gold farming techniques that can benefit even the most experienced players.
The best part of the guide, however, is the Auction House Domination, which now is essentially the main technique i use to farm gold for new characters. Warcraft Millionaire has all the mining maps, daily quests, and other gold farming techniques you see in other gold guides—but, Auction House Domination is what I think sets it apart from all the rest.
Auction House Domination
If you want to make it big in World of Warcraft, the Auction House is your ticket. Dailies, Professions, and Grinding can all pay off in the short run, but sooner or later you’re gonna want something a little more effective and easy. Unfortunately, the Auction House can be a pretty scary place unless you know what you’re doing, and Auction House Domination can make you an Auction House pro fast.
Before using this guide, I had sold a few things here and there, but I certainly wasn’t using it as my main source of gold. Now, I have no problem starting new characters on new servers and making thousands before I even get to level 10. This offers you a lot of freedom in the WoW community to be able to make gold anytime and anywhere you want.
Ease of Use
Nobody likes to open a gold guide and see a big wall of typo-ridden unintelligible text staring back at you. Unfortunately, this is ridiculously common even with very expensive guides. I found Warcraft Millionaire to be a strong exception to this trend and very well organized.
The meat of the guide is mapped out with a detailed table of contents that allowed me to easily go back and reference gold farming maps and techniques. Even better, I didn’t catch a single spelling or grammar error, and Brad’s writing style made it feel like he was sitting next to me casually divulging his deepest gold farming secrets.
Personal Experience and Final Thoughts
Like a lot of things in life, sometimes the classics are the best. As one of the first and longest running gold guides, Warcraft Millionaire has really matured into a class ahead of all the rest. For me, Warcraft Millionaire became the cornerstone in my World of Warcraft experience that let me stop worrying about the tedious stuff and start enjoying the game more.
