Luke Brown’s Gold Secrets is a one-size-fits-all gold guide that pretty much hits every major method of gold farming that exists. Along with the update for Wrath of the Lich King, the guide now stands at 365 pages – one of the largest guides on the market today.
Auctioneer’s Resource
There are a lot of really great components to this guide. Auctioneer’s Resources is a great place for any new (or experienced) gold farmer to start. This is probably the most beneficial part of the guide since it essentially teaches you how to make gold on demand any time you need it. Using this, I’m certain any player could start with little Auction House experience and work their way up to being an Auctioneer Pro.

Twinking Out Your Gold Bank
I’ve never really put a lot of value in Twinks (player characters with the best gear that are made to fight in certain battle grounds/pvp) before I read this guide. It turns out that I was missing out on some major profits! Using Twink Profits, included free with Gold Secrets, I’ve been making some pretty serious gold quickly using some of my previously useless low level characters.
Even if you don’t personally enjoy making twink characters, this guide explains how to use other people’s gold farming strategies to make you tons of gold—even if you don’t twink, a lot of other hungry players do! It’s very easy to make gold selling other people what they need to make gold.
The Auction House isn’t the Only Game in Town
The truth is that there are tons of ways to make gold in World of Warcraft. Believe it or not, there’s actually quite a few ways you can make a good bit of gold just by reselling vendor items. Using Luke Brown’s Gold Secrets, I was able to uncover a lot of ways of making gold that I had never tried before (and they worked really well!). It was a nice break from the standard “Buy Low, Sell High” Auction House-only technique.
I’ve actually found a renewed love for professions after reading this gold guide—it turns out I wasn’t really making as much gold as I could with them. Now, I’m easily able to make a killing without being limited to a gathering profession.
Final Thoughts
Simply put, Luke Brown’s Gold Secrets proves that newer is not always better. Having been in the gold farming guide game for a little over four years, this guide has really matured and outlasted all of its competitors to become one of the most expansive gold guides in existence. I don’t like doing the same thing every day I log in, because World of Warcraft is supposed to be fun and not a chore. If you’re like me and crave a bit of change now and again, you will really appreciate the sheer volume of options this gold guide presents.
Overall, I was very pleased with the contents in this guide and wish I could go into detail about just how unique and effective his techniques are, but then you’d probably get bored and wander off. Solid stuff!
